Measuring for Perfect Fit Blinds

Important Checks
Rubber Bead Check
Ensure your window has a rubber beading between the window frame and the glass.
Most windows have a rubber beading
Sometimes the rubber beading can be hidden under the frame. If your window does NOT have any rubber beading then Perfect Fit blinds will not be suitable.
Important Check
With a metal tape measure, ensure the rubber beading is less than 6mm wide, from the edge of the frame to the
edge of the glazing. If your rubber beading is wider than 6mm Perfect Fit blinds will not be suitable.

Rubber Bead Depth Check
Gently insert a credit card between your rubber beading and the glass. You must be able
to push the card in at least 1cm.
Beading very old or tight?
Rub some washing up liquid onto your credit card to make the beading depth check easier.

Frame Clearance Check
Measure from the edge of the rubber beading, where it meets the glass and ensure you
have at least 2.5cm clearance from any obstruction, such as handles, hinges or vents.
Don’t have 2.5cm clearance?
Do not fear! You do not need 2.5cm clearance to use our EcoFit blinds, which are similar
to PerfectFit blinds, but without the full frame.
Measure the Frame Depth
Place a credit card flat against the frame of your window or door, so it’s overlapping the
glass. Measure the gap between your credit card and the glass. This is your frame depth.

Usual Depths
Most frame depths range between 1.8cm (18mm) and 3cm (30mm)
Measure the Width
Using a metal tape measure, measure the width of the visible glass in three places. Use the
smallest measurement as your width.
Helpful Hints
Only measure the glass!
Don’t include any rubber beading or frame within your measurement.
Measure the Drop
Using a metal tape measure, measure the length of the visible glass in three places. Use the smallest
measurement as your drop.
Final step
Now enter the width and drop measurament and select your frame depth.
